On Law & Order: Special Victims Unit a man raped a young lady. But she is unsure of what really happened that night, but she does know he did it. But since there was not enough evidence NYPD  had to basically stop the investigation. Detective Rollins believed her and went undercover to prove the man was a rapist, but because of no backup from the department she could not make an arrest, and the man lawyer was present at the scene. They went to trial and he was found not guilty by the jury and was freed to go. But Rollins was recording the attack and the video was leaked out to a news station which exposed what really happened and proven he was a rapist right along with his friend. So, there were two suspects.

On Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, a video blogger was raped in a bar and accused only one man of the attack, but because of dishonesty two men were free to go in the end. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5429026/ Kristi Cryer was attending a party at Bobby D's bar when she claimed bar manager Noel Panko followed her into a restroom and raped her. Cryer was sent away from the NYPD, because of not enough evidence to prove her case. Turns out she was lying, and she was really in the bathroom with bar owner Bobby D'Amico. When Panko walked in D'Amico asked if Panko could join and Cryer was against it.  Detective Rollins went undercover to catch them in the act, but did it without permission. So, she could not make an arrest. On trial the jury found the defendants Bobby D’Amico and Noel Panko not guilty and were free to go. http://lawandorder.wikia.com/wiki/Star-Struck_Victims
